Inspire me Thursday - Paints

This is a scene that i really wanted to paint 10 years ago but never got around to it. I started this tonight and was afraid to stop in case i wouldn't finish it lol... i wish i had more time, so i can learn to be patient and refine this painting.

i don't think it's actually finished.. i may work on it some more later in the week but here it is for now.

Hi Sulea,

This is very nice indeed - is this acrylics on paper or board?? great shade/depth - love the colour, could fall into it. All that work with the stampscapes has given you a great eye with shading/depth/composition - love it.
Cheers,
Carmel

Lovely depth of colors and images. Like Carmel I could just fall into it..

And if you do add to it please share it on your blog.

Sulea,

You said you've had this piece in your mind for a while. Is it a place you know? Looks so peaceful and gorgeous. A wonderful place to live if so.... Nat

Thank you for the comments guys :o)

Carmel, it was acrylics on watercolour paper.. although i have wondered what it would be like to paint on wood boards.. i don't know if it's the done thing or not. i like how the paper is flat.

Natalie, the scene reminds me all the little towns in europe.. maybe Italy or France or even switzerland!

Sulea, I actually looked a this yesterday, but was so moved I could not comment straight away. The earnestness of the young person who has come to seek wisdom from the tree. The willingness to share. The beauty of the setting and the town, and yet still there is a search for answers. So much .. on such a little picture. Your talent is amazing.

I do so appreciate the previous picture aswell. As someone with bi-polar I often feel sad, and to deny that is to deny a lot of who I am .. I hate that society makes us ashamed of what we feel. Thank you Sulea.

Sulea - if you have this one available as a print I would love to buy it. It is just beautiful.
So much depth of feeling in it.

Hi Sulea,
Acrylics on board are great - I usually use MDF or canvas covered board for texture. MDF is very smooth and can be primed with gesso. Though I must say you 'handled' watercolour paper incredibly well - that is hard!! if you get to SAJ's can you bring orginals for us to drool over?
Cheers, Carmel x
