'Painted'

i was so excited painting this portrait.. it was unfolding as the painting begun and i can't hide how happy i am that it turned out the way it did.. this painting technique was sooooo cool. In a way it's impressionistic in that there are lots of layers of strokes and graduation in colour and texture. You can click the picture to get a closer view of the textures. i love how it's not perfect and i love big buttons!!! i can't wait to try another painting like this.
.
but what should i paint next? i usually get my ideas when i'm stuck at my desk at work or in the shower... i'm one of those people who cannot do anything when forced.. a lot of the times i just sit and wait.. sometimes i wait for weeks on end for a particular idea to ripen and when it's ripe for the picking, then i can paint.. If i try to paint before, the painting feels like it lacks what it could be.. it's like waiting for time and movement to converge, or be in sync. The most frustrating times are when i plan to do something and my heart wants to do something else.. it is just a disaster.

Few hours later.....
I managed to fit in another painting for this weekend.. this was a painting i had wanted to do for a long time but never found the time or energy for... I am loving being part of Misty's journal challenge/ sharing. It has been fun discovering new blogs and feeling connected ..

i just LOVE that excitement that comes when painting a piece that seems to want to be born faster than you can paint! it's wonderful to experience! I can feel the energy and excitement in these pieces you have painted! very wonderful! Thank you for joining and inspiring!

Love your art! Thank you for visiting my blog! Keep on journaling! ~ Missy
Oh Sulea I love these two paintings...but I am especially smitten with "Painted" what technique did you use? I am also such a sucker for bold colors that contrast against others.
thanks for visiting my last post...the house image was just glued down, painted over and wiped away, painted again, wiped away...you get the picture. I use alot of acrylic glaze with my acrylic paints so that I can keep things translucent when I want to. thanks again...I'll check back on you later!
Hi Sulea, thank you so much for your comments and length you took in what you liked. emerging is exactly what i was after and for someone to actually say that! i cheated in that i had the background ready. it's plaster, paint and fabric on top of felt. i see you are enjoying this as much as moi and that we have a parallel to tastes. so fun to meet you and see your work. it is extraordinary! Love, wanda
Hi Sulea, Thanks for your help and suggestion to re edit..I did try it, but it still wouldn't make my pic clickable...it seems to be a random thing, sometimes works and someyimes doesn't?...Thanks for your lovely comments as well, I wicsh I could paint as you do, as my girls just look like cartoons, not real faces...xx
